What you can do

After pairing, you can:

• Manage server-side spam filter settings
• Manage server filters (file into folder, redirect, out of office, and more)
• Quickly add addresses to the allow list from the current message
• Use AI-assisted Unsubscribe to leave mailing lists from the current message
• Use AI-assisted email writing (Compose AI) to rewrite drafts or suggest replies (coming soon)

Filters and spam settings are stored on the server, so they apply across all of your mail clients—not only the one you configured.

For spam, drag messages into your Junk folder. That trains the server’s filters and reports the message to spam organizations.

How it works

1. Install the Thunderbird or Outlook extension, or open the mobile app
2. Sign in to the portal and generate a one-time pairing code
3. Enter the code in the client (or open the mobile pairing link)
4. Manage settings and tools in the mail client or mobile app

Pairing codes expire in about 15 minutes. Generate a new one if yours has expired.

To pair a second mail account, sign out of the portal, sign in as that user, and generate another code.

The portal is mainly for pairing. Day-to-day tools live in Thunderbird, Outlook, or the mobile app. Already signed in? Go to the pairing dashboard to generate a code.

Recommendation: use IMAP

Email Apps is most useful with IMAP. Server filters that move mail into other folders run on the server; IMAP clients can see those folders.

With POP, the client typically only downloads Inbox, so mail filed into other folders will not show up—and those filters are not useful. Spam filter settings still work with POP, because they apply when mail is delivered to your mailbox.
